our Vision

The Friendship of Women, Inc.(FOW) maintains a clear vision that we are, above all, a social change agency committed to ending violence against battered women, men and their children in all of the Cameron County communities.

Toward this end, we continue to offer concrete resources to victims of battering which give them the best possible chances of breaking the cycle of violence for themselves and their children. The programmatic focus of the agency reaches beyond the provision of counseling and shelter to embrace the prevention and interruption of violence in the wider community. We join with all parts of the community in mutual strategies to eradicate family violence.
