Housing Case Worker
Department: Supportive Housing
Job Status: Full-time Work Schedule: Varies
Housing Case Worker is responsible for the delivery of services under the Supportive Housing Program, Transitional Housing Initiative. The Housing Case Worker is responsible for working with low income and at-risk families-victims/ survivors of family violence, sexual assault, and homeless individuals- who may reside in emergency shelter or are receiving outreach services, to develop an intensive case plan that addresses their barriers to housing and economic stability. The Housing Case Worker will provide direct services to include services to include but not limited to, outreach engagement services to homeless individuals living on the streets of Cameron County. Housing Case Worker will assist family violence and/or sexual assault victims/survivors transition from emergency shelter to housing programs. The Housing Case Worker will work closely as part of the Community Of Care (COC) outreach team to track homeless trends and work with the community to identify solutions.

Outreach Educator
Department: Community Education & Prevention

Summary: Outreach Educator will be responsible for conducting community education and primary prevention strategies to address the root cause of sexual violence and family violence in this community. The Outreach Educator will also provide quality essential intervention services to offenders/batterers of family violence and provide skilled education and training to the community and the criminal justice system. The Outreach Educator provides public awareness, community education and workshops on sexual and domestic violence. The Outreach Educator will work collaboratively to support coworkers on various projects assigned. Outreach Educator works closely with appropriate Advisory Committee members, Staff, Volunteers and the community to achieve goals of the Community Education and Prevention Program.

Residential Advocate
Work Schedule: Varies
This position is part-time and at an hourly basis with rotating shifts including graveyard, weekends, evenings, daytime, . but shift may change depending on agency needs- Provide services to residents and non-residents following the philosophy of the Friendship of Women, Inc., which includes empowerment, knowledge of power differentials and gender issues, and setting appropriate boundaries. Advocate, will assist to oversee the safety, general welfare, and day-to-day needs of the clients and their children receiving shelter or outreach services. Helps clients acclimate to a communal living environment by providing peer counseling/support, education, and mentoring.

Maintenance Technician
This position is part-time at an hourly basis. Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations. Duties involve
carpentry, plumbing work, painting, floor repair and upkeep, minimal electrical repairs, and heating and air conditioning system maintenance. Will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.

Children & Youth Advocate- This is a full-time position at an hourly basis. Responsible for providing direct victims services and advocacy to the children & youth receiving services at the shelter and outreach facility. Advocate will provide crisis intervention, child advocacy, hospital, court, medical, law enforcement accompaniment/transportation.

Community Outreach Advocate- This is a part-time position at an hourly basis. Community Outreach Advocate will be responsible for the general management and coordination of the Center’s Donations. Will ensure that outreach and shelter survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and homeless receive donations services established by the center. Advocate will support the philosophy of the Friendship of Women, Inc., which includes empowerment, knowledge of power differentials and gender issues, and setting appropriate boundaries. This is a flexible position directed by client needs, staffing patterns and workload. Advocate, will assist to oversee the safety, general welfare, and day-to-day needs of the clients and center.
